Reign of Talon: Season 2 Summit Perks Update

By Maxime

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well and enjoying the new season. As we mentioned in our previous article, "Reign of Talon: Season 2 Summit" brings a new round of perk changes to Overwatch. Blizzard's April 14, 2026 patch updates several heroes with new perks, removed perks, tier swaps, and direct perk balance changes.

Some perks have been moved into heroes' base kits, some have been replaced with brand new options, and others have simply been tuned to better match Blizzard's goals for the season.

Below, you will find a full perk-focused recap of the update, organized by role, along with the heroes whose Minor and Major perk costs have also changed.

Perk unlock costs

A few heroes also had their perk progression adjusted, which means they now reach their Minor and Major choices a little faster or a little later than before.

  • Bastion — Minor perk cost increased by 10% and Major perk cost increased by 6%.

  • Widowmaker — Minor perk cost reduced by 6% and Major perk cost reduced by 4%.

Tank perks

Sigma

  • Hyper Regeneration (Minor) now restores barrier health only when Sigma damages enemy heroes, so it is less effective as a general sustain tool.

  • Vengeful Vortex is no longer a selectable perk. Part of its functionality has been moved into Ravenous Vortex itself, giving the base ability more flexibility while lowering the explosion damage.
  • Prolonged Barrier is a new Minor perk that increases Void Barrier's size and duration by 25%.
  • Vengeful Vortex has been removed from the Major perk slot.
  • Void Surge has been moved from Minor to Major, and the delay between bursts has been reduced from 0.75 seconds to 0.6 seconds.

  • Invigorate has been removed from Roadhog's Major perks.
  • Hogdrogen Exposure is a new Major perk that lets Take a Breather heal nearby allies for 50% of the amount it heals Roadhog.

Mercy

  • Flash Heal has been moved into Mercy's base kit, with Blizzard also adjusting its cooldown and healing values in the patch.
  • Double Dose is a new Major perk that gives Flash Heal an additional charge, but lowers its base healing by 10.

That covers every named perk change Blizzard highlighted in the April 14, 2026 Season 2: Summit retail patch notes. The site is being aligned with these live updates, so you can check the refreshed perk info directly on each hero page. See you on the battlefield!
